Dear Doctor,

My husband and I married young, and we were both sexually immature. Sometimes I wish one of us had gotten some experience. After 32 years of matrimony our lovemaking remains pretty uninventive. Every night its the same routine--- I chain him to the bed and attach a six-inch rubber dolphin to my right elbow. Ho Hum.

He says he's fulfilled, but I feel like I'm missing something. I've tried to talk to him about it, but every time I suggest we try something new he looks at me like I'm crazy.

I know it's not technically a medical question, but what can I do to spice up our sex life?

Ho Hum? Millie, count your blessings. You've been married 32 years and you are still getting action every night. As for spicing things up, maybe hubby is as dissatisfied as you are, only he's got the good sense not to talk it to death.

My suggestion is to make some "unilateral" changes to the routine. Try mood music (I like John Tesh), or perhaps scented candles. I'm sure your husband will appreciate it. If all else fails, buy a bigger dolphin.
